Fake CAPTCHA clipboard scams

A fake CAPTCHA may claim that you must prove you are human by opening a system tool and pasting a command. The page may quietly place that command on your clipboard first.

Stop when a page tells you to

• Press Win+R or open PowerShell, Command Prompt, or Terminal
• Paste a copied “verification” command
• Press Enter to complete a CAPTCHA or browser check

Legitimate CAPTCHA checks do not require you to run a system command. Close the page instead.

What PasteSentry covers
